The Vineyard Touring Opera Company is returning to the Club for another
classic opera.
This time Puccini's "Tosca" -- a meaty stew for opera lovers with
its political intrigue, love, lust and deceit.

Book Club meeting - We will discuss "We need to Talk About Kevin"
by Lionel Shriver. Read the book first and then watch the video release of
the feature film. I think it would be very interesting to discuss a comparison
of the two and the problems of adapting a book to the screen.
June 28, 7:00 p.m.
The 6th History Lecture in our series "Our Santa Monica Bay"
will be "Birds of La Ballona Creek" in partnership with the Friends
of Ballona Wetlands. Local photographer and journalist Bill Beebe will present
his prints of La Ballona. Beebe was the head photographer for the Santa Monica
Outlook, and is famous for his Life Magazine photo of President John F. Kennedy
on Santa Monica beach. We will also have a speaker from Friends of the Ballona
Wetlands. The presentation will detail the history of the Wetlands and their
status today.
